What you'll do

• Manage food service functions and personnel
• establish departmental policies and procedures
• determine food quantities, plan menus, and control costs
• review regular diet requirements
• inspect work, storage, and service areas
• improve operating techniques
• develop supply-handling procedures and determine equipment and supply needs
• plan staffing and schedules
• prepare and monitor the departmental budget
• coordinate with department heads
• ensure food safety and sanitation
• train and supervise staff
• ensure approved menus and physician-ordered diets are followed
• order and review food and supplies
• complete nutrition documentation
• participate in interdisciplinary nutrition meetings
• assist the Registered Dietitian with nutrition information.
