The Senior Electrical Engineer — Plutonium Facilities role is 100% onsite in Los Alamos, NM, at TA-35/TA-55, with pay of $75–$85 per hour DOE. The role supports the Los Alamos National Laboratory Plutonium Rapid Response Team in a security-sensitive nuclear environment. The engineer leads complex electrical design and coordination work across facility design, construction, and field engineering support. The role develops and reviews design deliverables, resolves field issues, coordinates across disciplines, and provides technical direction to junior engineers in support of facility operations and project execution.

What you'll do

• Perform electrical engineering design, analysis, calculations, and reviews
• develop, review, interpret, and support design packages and construction documents
• support facility design, operations, maintenance, construction, modifications, and project execution
• review LAP-4 designs and internal packages
• address field engineering questions and mitigate field issues
• provide engineering input for low-voltage systems
• coordinate across engineering, construction, operations, maintenance, work control, project management, and facility organizations
• apply relevant codes, standards, procedures, and DOE/NNSA requirements
• provide technical direction and lead assigned activities.
