Specimen Collector

Job overview

The Specimen Collector works onsite in Seattle, WA, with flexible full-time and part-time roles available. Compensation is $18–$21 per hour. Millennium Health is an accredited specialty laboratory providing medication monitoring and drug testing services to support clinical decision-making. The collector obtains and processes patient specimens, records and verifies related information, and serves as a link between clinics and the laboratory. The role supports accurate specimen handling and responsive service to patients and clinicians; driving between facilities may be required.

What you'll do

• Collect urine and/or oral-fluid specimens
• process and package collections for shipping
• serve as an intermediary between practices or clinics and the laboratory
• record patient, physician-order, and laboratory information
• resolve specimen concerns involving billing or patient information in the ordering portal
• maintain onsite collection supplies
• observe collections when applicable
• drive between facilities when required.

Why this role

The posting prefers six or more months of specimen-collection experience, one or more years of patient-supporting medical experience, or two or more years of customer-service experience in place of medical experience. A high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation are required.
