NLM Security Specialist I–III

The NLM Security Specialist I–III is an onsite role at the National Library of Medicine’s Lister Hill National Center for Biomedical Communications on the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD. Compensation is not specified. The role supports cybersecurity and information security compliance for NLM systems and applications. Depending on level, the specialist supports or leads security risk management, vulnerability assessment and remediation, incident response, and federal compliance activities. The work helps protect federal systems and sensitive information while supporting the multidisciplinary IT teams working on biomedical information and analytics.

What you'll do

• Support or lead cybersecurity and risk management across NLM systems, networks, databases, and applications
• assist with or manage ATO documentation and System Security Plans
• conduct or oversee vulnerability assessments and remediation
• respond to security alerts and incidents
• protect controlled and sensitive information
• support secure computing environments, privacy assessments, vulnerability scanning, and security reporting.
