Part-Time Intervention Specialist — Youth Shelter

The Part-Time Intervention Specialist — Youth Shelter role is onsite at The Harbor in Port Huron, MI. The program operates 24/7 year-round, with shifts typically 8 a.m.–4 p.m., 4 p.m.–12 a.m., or 12 a.m.–8 a.m.; schedules are posted in advance and may be flexible. Pay is $15 per hour. The Harbor provides short-term shelter and support for runaway and homeless youth ages 9–17 in St. Clair County and surrounding areas. The specialist supports residents' daily routines, safety, and emotional well-being while helping them build life skills. The role provides supervision, crisis intervention, transportation, documentation, and assistance with activities and basic needs in accordance with program plans and policies.

What you'll do

• Assist youth with daily routines, meals, school, homework, chores, outings, and bedtime
• supervise residents onsite and on outings
• transport residents to school and appointments as assigned
• assist with assigned medical needs, medication passing, and first aid
• complete intakes and case documentation
• answer crisis calls and provide crisis intervention
• conduct bed checks and routine midnight-shift interventions
• support behavior management, meals, activities, and resident needs
• assist with safety and regulatory compliance.
