The Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Outpatient Counselor/Case Manager role is onsite in El Dorado Hills, CA, with pay of $24–$30 per hour. First Steps Recovery is an accredited behavioral health and substance-use-disorder treatment facility. The counselor coordinates and provides individual and group counseling, assessments, and clinical services for residents across applicable levels of care. The role supports treatment progress through person-centered planning, documentation, crisis intervention, and discharge and continuing-care coordination with the treatment team.

What you'll do

• Use agency assessment tools for treatment planning, discharge planning, and intake
• identify and prioritize patient needs
• prepare clinical summaries and person-centered care plans
• provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based practices
• document progress and clinical services
• prepare transition notes and discharge plans
• intervene in crisis situations
• support insurance utilization reviews
• participate in treatment-team meetings and training
• communicate with family members as appropriate
• coordinate referrals and discharge planning
• follow professional ethics, legal requirements, and reporting policies.
