Direct Support Professional

The Direct Support Professional role is onsite in Columbus, OH. Pay is $19–$24 per hour. The position provides direct care to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and supports their daily needs. The role helps individuals with personal care, health-related tasks, meals, household routines, appointments, and transportation. It also promotes safety and self-help, documents services, and reports changes in clients’ conditions to administrators and supervisors.

What you'll do

• Provide direct care to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• assist with hygiene, grooming, feeding, ambulation, and health-related tasks
• support medication self-administration reminders after proper training
• encourage self-help activities
• maintain a safe environment
• document services
• perform light housekeeping and laundry
• plan, shop for, prepare, and serve meals
• accompany and transport clients to appointments and errands
• assist with toileting
• report changes in condition or family situation.
