The mechanic fabricates and assembles production components and structural assemblies to specified dimensions. The work contributes to manufacturing by forming, fitting, joining, testing, and welding parts according to technical requirements.

What you'll do

• Set up and operate shears, cutoff saws, brakes, punch presses, form rolls, and drill presses
• form production parts
• assemble, fit, position, and align components
• lay out trim lines and hole patterns
• perform hand forming, riveting, bolting, clamping, dimpling, and tack welding
• pressure-test assemblies as required
• operate welding equipment and weld parts or assemblies.
