The Tax Associate Attorney – Transactional Tax role is onsite in Houston, TX. The salary range is $225,000–$420,000 per year. Direct Counsel is recruiting for a growing tax practice handling sophisticated transactional matters. The attorney advises clients on tax issues in business transactions, researches and analyzes tax matters, and drafts and reviews transaction documents. The role supports transactions across mergers and acquisitions, private equity, capital markets, investment funds, real estate, and energy.

What you'll do

• Advise on tax aspects of complex business transactions
• structure and analyze transactions
• conduct tax research and prepare analyses and memoranda
• draft and review transaction documents
• collaborate with corporate, finance, private equity, real estate, and energy attorneys
• advise on structuring, risk, and tax planning
• participate in client meetings, negotiations, and transaction execution
• contribute to presentations and thought leadership.
