Certified Medical Coder (In-Office)

The Certified Medical Coder role is onsite in Lauderdale Lakes, FL. Compensation is $18 per hour. The position supports Alina Community Center’s Family Medicine and Mental Health practice. The coder assigns and reviews codes for clinical services, checks documentation for accuracy and compliance, and helps resolve coding edits, denials, and documentation gaps. The work supports accurate claims and reimbursement while maintaining compliance with payer, CMS, Medicaid, HIPAA, and other applicable requirements.

What you'll do

• Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for Family Medicine and Behavioral Health services
• review provider documentation for coding accuracy and compliance
• identify and resolve coding edits, denials, and documentation deficiencies
• follow payer, CMS, and Medicaid guidelines
• collaborate with providers and billing staff
• maintain HIPAA and regulatory compliance
• stay current on coding updates and payer requirements.
