The Shipfitter role is onsite in South Point, OH, with compensation of $29 per hour and a 1st shift schedule of 6:00 AM–2:30 PM. CDR General Services is seeking a shipfitter for work in an industrial environment. The shipfitter measures, lays out, fits, and assembles structural steel and marine components using drawings and specifications. The work supports accurate fabrication and assembly of ship and barge components while meeting quality, safety, and production requirements.

What you'll do

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and shipbuilding specifications
• measure, lay out, fit, and assemble structural steel and marine components
• prepare materials for welding and fabrication
• verify dimensions and fit-up
• operate hand and power tools, grinders, torches, and measuring equipment safely
• inspect completed work
• follow safety procedures and maintain an organized work area.
