The Aircraft Sheet Metal/Structural Mechanic role is onsite in Smyrna, TN. Compensation is $36–$42 per hour. The mechanic supports a premier client in the aerospace and defense industry. The role performs aircraft structural repairs, modifications, and corrosion control to help maintain airframe condition and flight safety. Work follows structural repair manuals, technical data, and applicable aviation safety and quality requirements.

What you'll do

• Repair and modify aircraft skin panels, ribs, stringers, and structural components
• inspect and document damage
• work with thin-gauge aluminum and composite surfaces
• remove, fabricate, fit, and reinstall aircraft panels and fairings
• prepare surfaces
• interpret drawings and technical manuals
• document maintenance actions and work orders.

Why this role

At least three years of direct thin-skin general aviation airframe sheet metal fabrication and structural repair experience is required. An FAA Airframe and Powerplant license is preferred but not required; candidates must provide their own complete tool set.
