Tax Manager

The Tax Manager role is onsite in Des Moines, IA, with compensation of $115,000–$145,000 per year. The position joins LattaHarris’s growing Des Moines team, a regional public accounting firm providing tax, accounting, and consulting services. The manager leads client tax engagements and serves as an advisor to business and individual clients. The role contributes to client service and firm growth by reviewing complex returns and planning strategies, managing engagements, mentoring accounting staff, responding to tax authority notices, and supporting business development and team initiatives.

What you'll do

• Lead tax advisory work for a portfolio of business and individual clients
• review complex tax returns, projections, and planning strategies
• oversee client engagements for quality, efficiency, and service
• mentor and develop supervisors, staff accountants, and interns
• meet with clients for tax planning and consulting
• analyze and respond to IRS and other tax authority notices
• assist with business development, networking, referral relationships, recruiting, and team development.
