The Lead Pre-K Teacher role is onsite in Newport News, VA, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pay is $13–$15 per hour. First Steps Children Learning Center provides childcare and education for children from six weeks through age five. The teacher plans and leads age-appropriate learning and classroom activities, supports children’s social development, and communicates with parents about progress. The role helps create a safe, structured environment where young children can learn and develop.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement lessons aligned with early childhood education standards
• lead classroom activities and discussions
• maintain a clean, organized, safe classroom
• communicate with parents about children’s progress
• supervise children during meals, outdoor play, and field trips
• prepare progress reports.
