Direct Support Professional

The professional supports residents’ daily living, communication, community, vocational, and leisure goals. The role promotes safety and independence through instruction, regular checks, communication support, and assistance with medication and emergency procedures.

What you'll do

• Provide instruction in personal grooming, communication, home and wardrobe management, community skills, vocation, leisure, and behavior support
• promote resident growth and independence
• conduct regular safety and well-being checks
• assist with emergency evacuation and drills
• serve as a guide or communication facilitator when assigned
• obtain CPR, First Aid, and AMAP certifications
• dispense medications after passing the AMAP course
• sleep in as assigned.
