The Safety Monitor role is onsite in New York, NY, at the Westchester Avenue Safe Haven. Pay is $22–$23.69 per hour. BronxWorks operates this 63-bed, low-barrier shelter for chronically street-homeless adults aged 50 and older, with services that include case management, medical and psychiatric care, meals, and housing assistance. The monitor helps maintain a safe and orderly shelter environment through access control, patrols, incident response, and client support. The role also documents activities and coordinates with supervisors and emergency services to support shelter operations and client safety.

What you'll do

• Control access and patrol the facility
• enforce facility and regulatory policies
• report concerns and incidents
• support client services and meal procedures
• use de-escalation and crisis intervention
• respond to altercations and medical emergencies
• liaise with police and emergency services
• perform fire safety duties as needed
• complete required documentation and attend training.
