The Cook role is an onsite position in Houston, TX, with compensation of $15.00–$16.50 per hour. The cook supports meal service for patients and staff at St. Joseph Medical Center. The role prepares nutritious meals that meet dietary guidelines and special requests, helping the kitchen team deliver quality food safely and consistently. It also supports meal presentation, food storage, inventory, sanitation, and communication about food quality and availability.

What you'll do

• Prepare and cook meals using standardized recipes while meeting quality, taste, and dietary requirements
• assist with plating and presentation
• store and label food properly
• take inventory as assigned
• maintain food temperature, production, waste, and usage records
• keep the kitchen clean and follow HACCP and other food-safety guidelines
• communicate food, equipment, customer, and staffing issues
• participate in team meetings.

Why this role
