CNC Programmer

The CNC Programmer role is onsite in Wichita, KS. Pay is $28–$38 per hour. The position supports XLT Ovens, a Wichita-based manufacturer of commercial conveyor ovens and ventilation systems, working with Engineering, Fabrication, Production, and Quality. The programmer translates engineering drawings and CAD models into accurate, efficient CNC programs for fabrication and manufacturing. The work supports product quality, safe equipment use, material utilization, production efficiency, and continuous improvement by resolving programming issues and reducing waste.

What you'll do

• Develop, create, modify, and maintain CNC programs using CAD/CAM software and machine programming systems
• interpret engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, specifications, and manufacturing instructions
• translate CAD files into production programs
• determine machining sequences, cutting paths, tooling, speeds, feeds, and settings
• calculate dimensions, cutting locations, bend sequences, tolerances, and operations
• create nesting arrangements to improve material use
• identify and correct programming errors and potential machine interference
• collaborate across Engineering, Fabrication, Production, and Quality
• help resolve recurring fabrication issues and process inefficiencies
• follow safety policies and report hazards.
