Security Engineer

Job overview

The Security Engineer role is onsite in San Jose, CA. Compensation is $150,000–$330,000 per year. Etched builds hardware for frontier artificial intelligence, with products focused on inference. The engineer protects the networks, systems, applications, intellectual property, compute clusters, and developer workflows that support the company’s work. The role builds and operates security monitoring, detection, and response capabilities while automating controls and incident workflows to strengthen security without impeding engineering productivity.

What you'll do

• Harden security baselines across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud systems
• integrate telemetry, logging, and tracing for environment-wide observability
• lead vulnerability management, patching, and configuration assurance
• strengthen identity, access, and network security
• implement zero-trust architectures, SASE, CASB, and conditional access
• operate SIEM, SOAR, and EDR/XDR tools
• develop detection logic, automation, and response playbooks
• investigate and remediate incidents
• build scripts, agents, and integrations
• establish security metrics and dashboards
• promote security awareness across engineering teams.
