The Mold Builder / Mold Maker role is onsite in Ankeny, IA. Compensation is $25–$30 per hour, plus shift differential and quarterly profit sharing. The position supports a Tool Room team building precision tooling for components used in medical devices, aerospace applications, and advanced technologies. The mold maker builds new precision steel injection molds and machines, assembles, fits, troubleshoots, and inspects mold components. The work supports specialized product development through close collaboration with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams.

What you'll do

• Build new precision steel injection molds
• machine mold components using CNC mills, EDM equipment, lathes, grinders, mills, and saws
• read engineering drawings, CAD files, and specifications
• assemble, fit, troubleshoot, and inspect mold components
• use microscopes and precision measuring equipment
• collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance
• support tooling improvements and new mold development
• potentially lead tooling projects.
