The IT Support Specialist role is fully onsite in Kankakee, IL, with compensation of $23–$27 per hour, depending on experience. As part of a three-person IT team, the specialist provides day-to-day support to office, shop, and field employees. Resolving user and workstation issues, maintaining equipment records, and coordinating support helps the organization’s employees work effectively across its operations.

What you'll do

• Provide in-person, remote, and phone support for day-to-day IT issues
• serve as the primary contact for hardware, software, and computer system issues
• instruct users on new or updated technologies
• assist with onboarding and offboarding, account setup, and hardware configuration
• support hardware refreshes and software rollouts
• diagnose hardware, software, and connectivity issues
• coordinate with vendors
• log, track, and resolve tickets and escalate when needed
• maintain equipment inventory, IT records, and procedures
• travel locally between facilities as needed, with occasional travel to a Southeast facility.

Why this role

Requires 1–3 years of relevant IT support or help desk experience, independent troubleshooting ability, and basic networking knowledge. Bachelor’s degree or other formal education and Cisco switches/CLI exposure preferred. Standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; local facility travel and occasional Southeast travel are stated.
