The Patient Care Technician II – Nights role is onsite in Columbia, SC, with 36 scheduled hours per week. Compensation is not specified. The technician supports patient-centered care in the Medical University Hospital Authority’s Nursing 4E unit under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The technician assists patients with daily needs, monitors and documents vital signs and other observations, and reports concerns to nursing colleagues. These activities support patient comfort, safety, and the care team’s desired outcomes.

What you'll do

• Keep patient rooms tidy and sanitized
• assist with hygiene, restroom use, and grooming
• monitor vital signs, EKG signals, and patient condition
• assist nursing staff with basic treatments
• maintain care supplies and clean linen
• provide emotional support
• place patients on cardiac monitors
• empty drains, ostomies, and Foley bags
• perform blood sugar checks
• complete assigned duties.

Why this role
