The Line Cook role is onsite in Mechanicsville, VA, with pay of $19–$24 per hour based on experience. The cook supports Healthcare Manor East and prepares meals according to resident preferences, therapeutic diets, and Covenant Woods standards. The role prepares and presents food while maintaining kitchen safety, sanitation, and efficient service. Accurate meal preparation, food storage, and equipment care help meet residents’ dietary needs and support resident satisfaction.

What you'll do

• Prepare food according to resident preferences and diet orders, including mechanical soft and puree
• follow food-safety procedures
• stock products and supplies
• prepare meal orders promptly
• clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and surfaces
• label, date, store, and rotate food
• report equipment maintenance needs
• wash dishes and complete closing duties
• assist with events, catering, and inventory as assigned.

Why this role

Part-time schedule of 16–20 hours weekly, with shifts available 6:30 a.m.–3 p.m. or 3:30–7:30 p.m. Requires at least one year of cooking experience; ServSafe certification or ability to obtain it within 60 days, paid for by Covenant Woods.
