What you'll do
- Investigate and monitor suspected infection sources and communicate findings
- conduct surveillance, data collection, and trend analysis
- instruct and counsel patients and staff
- follow up on exposure incidents
- serve on the Quality Committee
- provide monthly and annual infection-control summaries and alerts
- use computerized documentation systems
- orient and mentor staff
- implement standard precautions and isolation procedures
- ensure identification and monitoring of patients requiring isolation
- implement the infection-control policy manual
- provide ongoing education on current CDC guidance and regulatory standards
- coordinate annual review and evaluation of the infection-control plan
- participate in meetings, conferences, committees, and improvement activities.
