Behavioral Health Social Worker — Inpatient

The Behavioral Health Social Worker — Inpatient role is onsite in Long Beach, CA, with pay of $30.46–$38.07 per hour. The position supports the Case Management Team, physicians, interdisciplinary colleagues, patients, and families with complex biomedical and psychosocial needs. The social worker assesses needs, develops individualized behavioral health goals, coordinates referrals and community resources, and collaborates on safe discharge planning. The role also provides quality oversight of non-licensed social work staff and may conduct individual or group therapy depending on program needs identified by unit leadership.

• Interview and assess people with complex behavioral health needs

• document biomedical and psychosocial issues
• manage behavioral health referrals and service navigation
• collaborate on discharge planning and care plans
• connect patients and families with assistance programs and community resources
• educate medical services staff and physicians about local resources
• participate in team meetings and case conferences
• provide quality oversight of non-licensed social work staff.

Why this role

Requires a master’s degree in Social Work, MFT, or LMFT with an active license; BLS is required and CPI certification is required within 30 days of hire. Schedule is Monday–Friday, day shift.
