Porter and Guest Relations

Job overview

The Porter and Guest Relations role is onsite in Denver, CO, with pay of $21–$22 per hour. The position supports the Cathedral’s visitors and assists clergy during Mass. By maintaining a safe, welcoming, and prayerful environment, the Porter helps guests and parishioners access the Cathedral and supports Mass and sacristy activities. The role also includes facility opening and closing, guest assistance, and upkeep of the grounds and sacred items.

What you'll do

• Open and close the Cathedral and control access to restricted areas
• welcome and assist guests
• monitor the Cathedral and grounds for safety
• perform Mass-serving duties and readings
• prepare and clean altar items
• maintain holy water fonts and sacred items
• tidy areas and remove trash.

Why this role

Requires full initiation in the Catholic Church and experience with Mass serving. Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion certification is preferred; training and commissioning may be provided after hire.
