The Senior Systems Engineer — SM-2 / SM-6 Safety role is onsite in Dahlgren, VA, with minimal telework and compensation of $120,000–$150,000 per year. BCI’s Operations Engineering Safety group provides system safety engineering support to Coast Guard, Naval Sea Systems Command, Missile Defense Agency, Joint, and Naval Air Systems activities. The engineer develops and evaluates safety analyses and products for missile and other defense systems, helping leadership assess and address risk. The role also leads safety engineering teams, participates in reviews, and prepares reports and briefings for formal boards.

• participate in engineering and safety reviews
• formulate and evaluate risk studies and analyses
• prepare reports and briefs for formal boards
• analyze system safety plans, management plans, hardware and software changes, and safety test documentation.

Why this role

Approximately 8 a.m.–4 p.m. shift. Requires 15+ years of relevant DoD weapon-systems operational or combined experience and five years of qualified DoD systems safety experience. CONUS travel may be required up to 5–10%; applicants must be U.S. citizens and eligible for classified access.
