Outside Machinist — Ship Repair

What you'll do

• Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders
• machine parts to tight tolerances
• interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications
• inspect parts with precision measuring instruments
• select tooling, materials, speeds, and feeds
• support installation, maintenance, and repair of pumps, motors, compressors, and related equipment when machining work is not required
• assist with disassembly, inspection, and reassembly
• perform alignments and basic troubleshooting
• maintain a safe work environment.
