What you'll do

• Review medical records and assign and sequence diagnosis and procedure codes
• assign discharge disposition
• abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting
• communicate documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues
• maintain stated coding and APC accuracy rates and site productivity standards
• track continuing education credits
• attend sponsored education meetings and in-services
• communicate with coworkers, management, and hospital staff about clinical and reimbursement issues
• comply with HIM policies and AHIMA ethics.
