Food Services Assistant

Job overview

The Food Services Assistant role is onsite in Citra, FL. Pay is $18 per hour. The position supports kitchen operations at Phoenix House Florida, including food service for residents in a residential treatment program. Under the Operation Manager’s supervision, the assistant oversees food preparation and kitchen practices while supporting residents in learning food preparation and sanitation skills. The role helps maintain safe, sanitary food service and contributes to the program’s daily operations.

What you'll do

• Supervise food preparation, serving line, and portion control according to the weekly menu
• maintain sanitary and safe food preparation areas
• train residents in sanitation, food preparation, handling, and storage
• oversee HACCP practices
• monitor clients and report unacceptable behavior
• follow organizational policies, licensing requirements, and quality assurance goals
• maintain kitchen cleanliness, equipment, inventory, and food safety
• support inspections and required training.

Why this role
