The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
What you'll do
- Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care.
- Supervise care under a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
- Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles.
- Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge.
- Utilize appropriate age and population specific standards.
- Perform testing to evaluate resident status and provide care.
- Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations.
- Ensure resident health, comfort, and safety.
- Administer medications or treatments as ordered.
- Provide technical support to healthcare professionals.
- Document resident interactions and outcomes.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Work effectively with professional and supportive personnel.
- Communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality.
- Counsel residents, family members, and/or resident advocate on prevention and treatment plans.
- Develop self-care programs.
What we're looking for
- Education
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program
- Experience
- Minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
