Early Head Start Teacher Float

The Early Head Start Teacher Float role is onsite in Lafayette, IN, with regular travel between centers in the service area. Pay is $17.19–$19.89 per hour, depending on education. As a permanent substitute, the teacher float provides classroom coverage for infants and toddlers from birth to age three, supporting continuity of care and development across centers. The role uses responsive caregiving and individualized learning, partners with families and staff, and maintains program and safety requirements.

What you'll do

• Provide classroom coverage throughout the assigned service area
• build nurturing relationships with infants, toddlers, and families
• implement individualized care routines and curriculum activities
• observe and document developmental progress
• follow safe sleep, health, safety, Head Start, and licensing requirements
• collaborate with families and staff
• travel between assigned locations.
