The Lead Application Scientist - Metallography role is onsite in Saint Joseph, MI, with a Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule; compensation is not specified. The position supports LECO’s sales organization and leads application scientists working on metallographic applications. The role exists to provide technical application support to customers and sales teams while developing and demonstrating metallographic methods for LECO instruments. It also guides application scientists, coordinates customer demonstrations and sample work, and supports quality, training, and cross-functional initiatives.

What you'll do

  • Recommend instruments and consumables
  • provide technical support and troubleshooting
  • develop metallographic methods and validation data
  • coordinate sample submissions and testing
  • prepare customer reports
  • mentor and lead Application Scientists
  • deliver customer demonstrations and technical presentations
  • oversee equipment operation and maintenance
  • develop and approve procedures
  • support ISO/IEC 17025:2017 compliance
  • collaborate with Product Management, R&D, Sales, Service, and Production.
