What you'll do

• Prevent accidents and reduce hazardous situations
• respond to water emergencies and perform rescues
• administer first aid as needed
• communicate requests for assistance or equipment
• enforce facility rules and educate patrons
• assist patrons
• test pool chemicals and perform pool maintenance, including cleaning baskets and vacuuming
• assist with staff rotation and schedules
• respond to patron questions and concerns
• assist the Aquatic Supervisor with staff in-service training.

Why this role

Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR for Professional Rescuer, Standard First Aid, and AED certificates are required; YMCA equivalent lifeguard training is acceptable. Evening, weekend, and holiday work is required; candidates should be age 15 or over.
