The Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counselor role is onsite in Darby, MT, in a residential education and vocational training environment. Compensation is not specified. The role assesses and counsels students, develops and monitors individualized support plans, coordinates referrals, conducts testing with chain-of-custody procedures, and collaborates with healthcare, education, counseling, recreation, and residential staff. The typical schedule is Monday and Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., and Tuesday through Thursday, approximately 10:00 or 10:30 a.m.–6:30 or 7:00 p.m.

What you'll do

• Conduct substance-use screenings, assessments, and intake interviews
• provide individual and group counseling
• develop and maintain intervention and support plans
• connect students with recovery resources and community referrals
• monitor progress
• coordinate with multidisciplinary staff
• conduct drug and alcohol testing while maintaining chain of custody
• maintain testing supplies and confidential records
• prepare monthly and quarterly reports
• support prevention and healthy-lifestyle programming
• and participate in meetings, case conferences, training, and professional development.
