Civil Structural Engineer III

Job overview

Civil Structural Engineer III, remote, with compensation not specified. This role is with Qualus, a leading pure-play power solutions firm. This position involves designing and detailing foundations for substation structures and designing substation structures, applying applicable codes and client standards to create various plans and details. The engineer will also work with renewable energy developers and other clients to support schedules and cost estimates.

What you'll do

• Develop overall conceptual design plans in the initial development phase of new projects
• Work with renewable energy developers and other clients with support specific to schedules and cost estimates
• Design foundations using commercially available software such as LPILE
• Develop steel structure models for rigid bus and equipment supports
• Perform company's Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with our external business partners
• Present information and respond to questions from individual or groups of clients
• Direct and/or participate in client meetings/job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data
• Mentor less experienced staff on a wide range of technical and project management skills
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.

What we're looking for

Education

Bachelors of science or master's in civil engineering from an ABET accredited institution

Experience

4+ years of experience performing civil structural engineering calculations.
