Property Manager — Affordable Housing

The Property Manager — Affordable Housing role is onsite in Horseheads, NY, for 24 hours per week. Compensation is $20–$23 per hour. Providence Housing develops, finances, and manages affordable housing and aims to strengthen families and communities through quality housing and supportive services. The manager oversees day-to-day property operations, including tenant eligibility and recertification, rent and financial processes, staff coordination, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and tenant relations. The work supports safe, well-managed affordable housing and the organization’s occupancy, rent collection, and compliance goals.

What you'll do

• Coordinate an on-site rental property management office
• supervise administrative and maintenance staff
• interview applicants and collect eligibility documentation
• explain program and lease requirements
• recertify tenants
• verify information and recommend eligibility
• calculate rental charges
• inspect units and identify repair or safety needs
• address tenant complaints and refer tenants to social services when needed
• prepare work orders
• collect rents and prepare deposits
• process accounts payable
• assist with budgets and monitor financial performance
• prepare required reports
• ensure fair housing and regulatory compliance
• support marketing and tenant communications
• maintain accurate systems and records
• mentor and train staff.
