Math and Reading Tutor

The Math and Reading Tutor role is onsite in Sugar Land, TX, with pay of $12 per hour. The tutor supports Gideon Math & Reading’s work to build children’s confidence through additional math and reading practice. The role helps students generally ages 4 to 13 use the organization’s curriculum and methods. Through grading assigned work, answering questions, and guiding students toward independent learning, the tutor supports practice and skill development.

What you'll do

• Use answer keys to grade student work in pre-assigned booklets
• answer student questions
• guide students toward independent learning using techniques such as sounding out words and rereading stories or directions
• maintain a positive, encouraging, and professional approach.
