The Project Engineer - Construction is an onsite role based in Modesto, CA, with a salary range of $110,000 - $150,000 per year. This position supports a Midwest-based construction management and general contracting team. The role exists to own the project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout. The engineer will lead high-performing teams and deliver world-class experiences for owners and partners across education, retail, automotive, commercial, and civic markets.

What you'll do

• Drive preconstruction participation, GMP development, buyout, cost control, schedule, quality, safety, and closeout.
• Mentor APM/PEs and partner with Superintendents.
• Create and maintain detailed schedules, procurement logs, and risk registers.
• Manage forecasts, pay apps, change orders, and contingency.
• Cultivate strong relationships with owners, architects, and trade partners.
