Fabricator — Metal Components

Job overview

The Fabricator role is onsite in Lake in the Hills, IL, with stated compensation of $18–$22 per hour. Direct Dimension manufactures fabricated components for the transportation industry and is expanding its production team. The fabricator cuts, shapes, fits, and prepares metal components from engineering drawings and production requirements. Working with welders and production colleagues, the role helps ensure components are accurate, production-ready, and meet quality standards.

What you'll do

• Read blueprints, drawings, and work orders
• measure, mark, cut, grind, and prepare metal components
• fit and prepare materials for welding and assembly
• operate fabrication equipment including band saws, grinders, drill presses, plasma cutters, and measuring tools
• assist with press-brake forming and bending
• align and secure parts
• inspect tolerances and quality
• maintain a clean work area and follow safety procedures
• support welders and production staff.
