Surgical Assistant

The Surgical Assistant works onsite in Huntington, WV, part time, for 10 days each month. Compensation is not specified. The assistant supports examinations and surgery, monitors patients, maintains records, and prepares clinical spaces and equipment.

What you'll do

• Maintain patient records
• assist physicians during examinations and procedures
• perform X-rays as needed
• document medical histories and consent forms
• process prescriptions
• monitor vital signs and anesthesia records
• maintain airways during sedation and suction when necessary
• monitor patients post-operatively until release to a caregiver
• prepare and sanitize rooms
• support patient flow and clinic operations.
