The Relief Veterinarian, Marine Mammal Program role provides onsite coverage at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base in St. Marys, GA, with pay of $42–$60 per hour. The National Marine Mammal Foundation supports the U.S. Navy Marine Mammal Program’s veterinary care for bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions. The veterinarian provides scheduled and as-needed clinical and emergency care, including preventative medicine, under the direction or supervision of a full-time program veterinarian. The role supports animal health through 24/7 care and requires in-person response to urgent and emergent cases within two hours.

What you'll do

• Provide clinical, emergency, and preventative veterinary care for bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions
• carry primary on-call responsibility during scheduled relief coverage under the direction or supervision of a full-time veterinarian
• respond in person to urgent and emergent cases within two hours.
