Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist role is onsite in Honolulu, HI, with a salary range of $60,000–$70,000 per year. HBC Management Services supports federal government, military, and commercial clients and shares The Hana Group’s mission to uplift Native Hawaiian communities. The specialist assists the Payroll Manager with accurate, timely, and compliant payroll for a multistate workforce of more than 1,200 employees across multiple organizations. The work also supports employee service, payroll controls, and coordination with Human Resources.

What you'll do

• Process biweekly and off-cycle payroll transactions using Paylocity
• maintain records for garnishments, tax levies, and bankruptcy cases
• reconcile and transmit union payments
• conduct data and retro-pay analysis
• ensure compliance with policies, collective bargaining agreements, contracts, and applicable laws
• review payroll reports and audit employee records
• review, edit, and approve timesheets
• assist with timeclock issues
• respond to employee and manager inquiries
• coordinate with HR on employee changes
• complete requested wage reports.

Why this role

Requires 4+ years of full-cycle payroll experience, an associate’s degree in a relevant field, experience with biweekly payrolls for more than 1,000 employees, and collective bargaining agreement experience. Paylocity experience is desired.
