Fire Alarm Engineer and Designer

The Fire Alarm Engineer and Designer role is onsite in Woodbury, NY. Compensation is $100,000–$120,000+ annually. The role joins Total Fire Protection’s growing Engineering team, supporting the company’s work to save lives and protect property. The position designs code-compliant fire alarm systems and supports projects from design through installation and closeout. It contributes technical expertise to life-safety projects across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, residential, and institutional settings.

What you'll do

• Design fire alarm systems to NFPA, local codes, and compliance requirements
• prepare construction drawings, device layouts, riser diagrams, system and battery calculations, and permit packages
• prepare shop drawings and engineering submittals
• coordinate with project managers, operations, service, installation teams, contractors, architects, and engineers
• conduct site surveys
• respond to plan review comments
• support installation, testing, commissioning, closeout, estimating, and sales
• maintain project documentation and schedules.

Why this role
