Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (Medical Oncology)

The role provides acute and progressive care nursing for patients on the unit, supporting safe monitoring and treatment in a high-acuity setting. Responsibilities include responding to changes in patient condition, managing lines and therapies, and following infection prevention and fall-prevention practices.

What you'll do

• Provide nursing care in a 36-bed oncology telemetry unit with more than 24 beds dedicated to progressive care. Interpret dysrhythmias
• use rapid response teams
• manage feeding tubes, ports, blood products, central, peripheral, and PICC lines
• start IVs
• follow heparin protocols
• manage and titrate cardiac drips
• support PCA, chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management. Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as required.
