Senior Transmission Line Engineer, remote, Alexandria, VA. Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00. This role contributes to electric transmission line design projects for high-voltage overhead and underground systems. This role focuses on executing technical design and engineering tasks related to high-voltage transmission lines, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
What you'll do
- Contributing as key members of a dynamic team working in a fast-paced environment, solving challenging problems involved with electric transmission.
- Serving as key contributors on electric transmission line design projects for high-voltage overhead and underground systems for some of the largest utilities in the country.
- Applying established NESC, ASCE, ACI, and other applicable standards in the engineering and design of electrical overhead and underground systems, voltage conversion projects, new capacity projects, and infrastructure replacement projects.
- Performing engineering analyses, preparing bidding documents, drafting plans and specifications, and preparing material procurement and construction documents.
- Focusing on independent execution of technical tasks using tools like PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE and contributing to the quality control process.
- Working with a multi-person Leidos team and supporting clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
- Executing technical design and engineering tasks related to high-voltage transmission lines, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
- Preparing and reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and calculations under the guidance of Lead Engineers or Project Managers.
- Performing engineering analyses, including PLS-CADD modeling and structure loading calculations.
- Contributing to the team's continuous improvement goals by learning and applying new technical tools, AI, and automation platforms.
- Actively communicating and coordinating project progress with the Project Manager (PM) to ensure awareness of and adherence to project schedule and budget.
