Cyber Analyst

The Cyber Analyst role is onsite at Hill Air Force Base, UT. Compensation is not specified in the posting. The JAAW Group supports secure, mission-critical Department of Defense systems in classified government environments. The analyst monitors security telemetry, investigates suspicious activity, and supports incident response to help identify threats and strengthen the cybersecurity posture of mission systems. The role works with Security Engineers, ISSOs, and other technical teams on detection, remediation, and recovery.

What you'll do

• Monitor SIEM platforms, including Splunk
• triage and investigate alerts and escalate confirmed incidents
• conduct proactive threat hunting
• document incident findings and recovery actions
• support root-cause investigations
• coordinate with ISSOs and Security Engineers
• support vulnerability scanning with Nessus and ACAS
• assist with STIG compliance verification
• contribute to POA&M tracking
• document detection logic and playbooks
• improve telemetry, detection, and alert tuning
• participate in Agile delivery activities.
