TITLE: SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD. PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION:. The purpose of this classification is to assist with traffic flow in front of a school and assist children and adults across the street to school. Employees in this classification ensure safe conditions at school crossings; direct traffic; assist buses and ensure the general safety of school areas.
