Construction Inspector

The Construction Inspector role is onsite in Saratoga Springs, NY, with pay of $104,000–$174,720 per year. The inspector supports construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities and infrastructure in the greater New York City metro area and Springfield, MA. The inspector observes and documents construction work, checks compliance with project requirements and safety expectations, and coordinates with the construction management and engineering teams. This work helps the project team track progress, quality and contractor performance through construction and startup activities.

What you'll do

• Review drawings, specifications and work plans for contractor compliance
• observe, monitor and evaluate construction activities onsite
• track work against approved shop drawings
• observe safety compliance
• prepare daily reports, verify quantities and time-and-material records, and review pay applications
• monitor schedules and work sequences
• maintain redline and as-built drawings
• coordinate with project teams, contractors and inspection firms
• assist with startup, testing, checkout and training
• maintain inspection and testing documentation.

Why this role

Minimum five years of construction or construction observation experience. Willingness to travel and stay local to projects in the NYC metro area as needed. Engineering, engineering technology or building/construction science degree preferred but not required.
