The Medical Assistant role is onsite in Ridgecrest, CA. Compensation is $22 per hour. The position supports a healthcare client operating ambulatory health centers, providing administrative, clerical, and clinical support under clinical nursing leadership. The Medical Assistant helps the outpatient care team deliver patient-focused services centered on prevention and health maintenance. The role supports visits through room preparation, measurements, clinical assistance, patient education, records management, and coordination of follow-up care.

What you'll do

• Prepare exam rooms and patients for visits
• obtain and record vital signs and preliminary measurements
• verify patient information, history, symptoms, and reason for visit
• assist providers with examinations and procedures
• administer medications and injections per written orders
• collect specimens and perform CLIA-waived testing
• complete lab orders, referrals, and refill requests
• clean and restock rooms
• support patient education and counseling
• schedule follow-ups
• maintain supplies and records
• participate in QA/QI
• travel to multiple clinic locations as assigned.

Why this role

Requires Medical Assistant training in accordance with California Medical Board requirements, current venipuncture certification, and current CPR and BLS certifications. English/Spanish bilingual ability is preferred.
